Suicide Postvention Services

Even though our emphasis is on suicide awareness and prevention, the Samaritans of Merrimack Valley offers help and support to individuals, families, and communities affected by a suicide death. The Samaritans provide support and debriefing for schools (both students and staff) , mental health professionals, co-workers and parents by being on site and talking through the tragedy with an open mind and sympathetic ear.

This process helps affected individuals cope with the tragedy of suicide and gives them the skills and resources to grieve in a healthy way. Postvention services are a way to promote healing on a community-wide basis and reduce the risk of further suicide incidents.
